I would like to implement some kind of way to temporarily look up or down 15 degrees when the right joystick is tilted up or down, then snap back to level on the XY plane, so as to allow me to look at the floor without physically craning my neck in an uncomfortable manner. With the way I sit in my chair, I can easily lean 45-60 degrees, but to lean forward anymore, I have to physically move or stand up. If anyone could provide some suggestions as to how I might be able to modify these controls, I would be appreciative.įinally, I like to play Skyrim VR while seated, but often times, as SkyrimVR is a loot centric game, I need to collect loot scattered around the environment, often on the floor This requires a significant amount of leaning. Unfortunately, the bindings are hexidecimal, and quite meaningless to me. If a file were to be modified, this would be the file to modify. controlmapvr.txt shows all of the button mappings for each of the VR controllers. windowsmrcontroller.txt is used to hard code the switches for each of the button inputs on the WMR controller, so this should not be altered unless you want to disable a button that is causing issues. Within this extracted folder, I found the inteface/controls/pc folder. Using the Bethesda Archive Extractor tool ( ), I was able to extract the contents of SkyrimVR/Data/Skyrim_VR - Main.bsa to a temporary folder. The final option would be to modify the configuration files within SkyrimVR itself. However, if that were not the case, the developer has given very little support for WMR, only showing the triggers, analog sticks, and trackpads as input options (not including any of the buttons) and all are shown as analog controls, without a clear way to remap directional inputs. The second option seems to be mostly outdated, and no longer necessary, from what I have read online, since most of it's functionality was rolled into SteamVR. I am pretty sure there is no way to handle that in SteamVR's settings. This doesn't even take into account the sprint hotkey, which uses two buttons. It is not clear to be, however, how you would then remap some other action to the joystick presses. I know that the joystick click is supposed to be inaccessible as it is bound to SteamVR overlay, but I know you can disable that. SteamVR does not seem to allow you to remap specific directions on the joystick or trackpad, nor to remap the joystick click. The first option seems like a complete dead-end. Alter configuration files within SkyrimVR to remap controls.Use the OpenVR InputEmulator to forcibly remap controls.Use SteamVR's Change Bindings menu to remap controls.I have determined three ways in which one might be able to remap controls, but I have not had any luck implementing them: Maybe I am misreading or misunderstanding something, but either the instructions for remapping controls are very poor or the ability for remapping is very limited. Ideally, I would like to bind the right joystick click to sneak, the left joystick click to sprint, and jump to up on the right trackpad. Additionally, the joystick clicks are reserved for the SteamVR overlay. In Skyrim VR, there are a few keybindings that seem nonsensical to me, those being right joystick down for crouch, right joystick up for jump, and left trigger+left grip for sprint. Generally speaking, I would like to know how to rebind controls with a WMR controller, but my specific issue at the moment is with Skyrim VR.
